A creative studio based in Amsterdam, founded by Debbie Trouerbach and Edith Scharloo. With a lot of enthusiasm and know-how, we narrate stories for brands and initiatives by developing written and visual content. That's our cup of tea.
At the heart of our studio is the notion of working with an open, warm and intuitive approach – a philosophy that emphasises everything we do and make. We aim to reach meaningful concepts and modern aesthetics, by narrating stories that stand the test of time.

Sharing the same vision and values, we teamed up as friends — Joko in old-Japanese — and started an online journal to portray inspiring places, objects and people. An initiative that naturally led us towards the beginning of Studio Joko.

Santorini, the balcony of the Aegean, is a small archipelago beloning to the Cyclades. Its origin story reads as an eternal interplay of man and the realm of nature; a volcanic eruption is what shaped the geological of the Caldera.

Called by the alluring Saharan sands and ever fascinated by MENA cultures and architecture, we recently travelled from Amsterdam to Northern Africa to visit the sacred land of Egypt for a visual exploration.
Mansur Gavriel, New York
In the dapper Soho neighbourhood, one can enter the dreamy world of Mansur Gavriel - elegant, sophisticated and pink. Dazzling pink. Established by founders Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel, the store opened its doors in 2016 as a pop-up venture, but decided to keep their sign on the wall until recently. Feeling happy to have visit the store just in time, as Mansur announced their closing date a couple of days ago.
Coffee Sometime, Amsterdam
A singular spark of Scandinavian minimalism settled down in the heart of Amsterdam. Persuaded by the fragrant aroma of freshly brewed coffee in the air, we slow down our pass to warm welcome this new local charm to the city’s café culture.
Legzira Coast, Morocco
Turning our lenses to a sight of rust coloured stone arches, formations shaped by water and wind. The whimsy and wonder of Morocco’s sweeping coves leaves us in awe – a feeling that challenges our understanding of the natural world. Its forceful presence opposed to our insignificance feels strangely comforting.

Art direction
When it comes to setting the look, feel and voice of a brand or product, some extra guidance can be very welcome. We are here to take on the role of a storyteller, marrying together words and imagery to synthesise a message and mood into one visual language.
Photography
We capture visual stories or product stills for fashion, product and interior brands, by developing seasonal campaigns, lookbooks, social media content. We specialise in both digital and analogue photography.
Styling
We are dedicated to provide styling services related to fashion, interior and products. We cover multiple assets of styling – from fashion editorials and brand campaigns to the styling of still life photography.
Creative writing
We believe in finely-crafted words to shape a brand’s tone, message and voice. Think of long-form articles, such as blog content, or short copy such as campaign stories and e-commerce copy.
